Chapter 11 - Skill


•Visualizing (2) pg #’s : What can you see as you read?

•Characterization (2) pg #’s : What is the character’s personality and how is it changing?

•Context Clues (2) Pg #’s:
1. Find two unknown words.
2. Write the sentence with that word.
3. Then write a definition for what you think that word means using the rest of the sentence to help you.

I can see Cole eating the mouse.

characterization
Cole in the beginning of the book he was really mean and like he would beat up anything that looked at him wrong.

midstride,He turned his head to find the spirit bear standing barely twenty feet away,staring at him,one paw forward as if frozen in mistride.

I think Goober means, Slime on someones face like slobber.

I think mistride means, I some kind of rain or sleet or hail.

I also visualized spirit bear comeing back for Cole. pg.90

Characterisation: I think Cole is like really desprate to live instead of looking for edible things on the island he just eats whats near him. pg.90

Context clues:
1.Toying
"did spirit bear come back to kill him or was he just toying with him." I thing toying means just messing around with him.

2.bloodletting
"Cole closed his eyes to the bloodletting."
I think it means painfull and nonending.

At first Cole didnt like beging in the forest at all.He tryed so hard to get out of that place, but he had to learn what he did wronge.
